FRIEND SURVIVAL FUND
Extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures. In response to the pandemic and the fact that many of our Friends are not receiving stimulus funds and are now unable to work and are facing dire financial situations, NSC is temporarily expanding the services provided by our social work team to include direct financial support.
We know that cash assistance is a short-term lifeline, so all Friends requesting financial support will work with our social work team to receive information about and referrals for ongoing resources. For example, many Friends are contacting us worried about being evicted, and we are able to provide them with information about the city's current stay on evictions; Friends contacting us with the need for food are being connected to local food banks; and those suffering mental health crises in this incredibly difficult time are receiving referrals to free care through partner organizations.
If you have the ability to contribute monetarily, by donating your stimulus funds or making a general donation, please consider supporting NSC’s Friend Survival Fund program today.
