Hearings in non-detained cases at Newark (NJ) Immigration Court resumed on July 13. Hearings in non-detained cases at NYC immigration courts (26 Federal Plaza, 290 Broadway, and 201 Varick Street) are postponed through, and including, August 21, 2020.
Call EOIR at 800-898-7180 or visit EOIR's automated case information website (click here) once a week to stay informed about a rescheduled court date. ICE and ISAP in-person reporting requirements are suspended until further notice. For questions or concerns about check-ins with ICE or ISAP, contact your local ICE office or ISAP case worker.

November: NSC Success Stories

  • Our friend George has been in detention for 9 months without representation. He had a private attorney from a different state prior to his detention which barred him initially from being eligible for free representation by the New York Immigration Family Unity Project (NYIFUP). As the months of incarceration went along, the accompaniment team volunteers noticed George's mental health began to deteriorate. Thanks to the strong advocacy of these volunteers, Bronx Defenders (who are a part of the NYIFUP project) have officially agreed to take on his case!
